Five Traditional Markets in West Jakarta Inspected

The West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency launched a sudden inspection (sidak) in five traditional markets in Grogol Petamburan Sub-district.

It aims to create a sense of safety and comfort to the public for food products circulating in the market

Food Security and Agriculture Division Head Sri Riana Hanim said those five markets inspected were namely Tomang Barat, Grogol, Duta Mas, Jelambar Polri, and Timbul Barat.

"It aims to create a sense of safety and comfort to the public for food products circulating in the market," she expressed, Wednesday (3/23).

Food Control in Markets will Be Intensified Ahead of Ramadan

At Tomang Barat Market, the officer took samples of fresh and processed food commodities such as chicken, meat, and fish.

Then also commodity vegetables and fruits such as cesim vegetables, long beans, broccoli, chili, apples, oranges, and so on. Afterward, they were then checked in three mobile laboratory cars deployed on the site.

"We take samples of 60 foodstuffs in each market. So, in total, there are 300 samples that we check," she stated.
